Nova Menostage

Menostage, by the manufacturer Nova, is advertised as the ideal remedy for women who have begun having menopause symptoms. The manufacturers state that it can help relieve irritability, depression, insomnia and even reduce forgetfulness. It is said to also be effective against hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness and loss of libido. Big claims so we wanted to dig a little deeper.

While we were happy to see the inclusion of a wide range of over 15 ingredients which look impressive on the label, we were left wondering about the relevancy of some of these with no real clinical studies to back up their inclusion. This included Ginseng, Atriplex halimus, Schizandra Berry and Alfalfa which we are not sure about how effective they are in terms of helping alleviate hot flushes or reducing irritability. Albeit there is some small connection with these herbs and some elements of menopause, we felt that they could have used more of the well-known, proven ingredients such as in out first choice.

We appreciated the fact that Nova Menostage contains some great ingredients namely Black Cohosh, Red Clover, Yam and Zinc which is great news, however, they are in such small amounts that we really wonder just how effective this could be. It could be that people take more to experience more results and this is a dangerous practice given that you can overdose.  There is also the inclusion of certain ingredients that have very little benefit and we felt that they could have been eliminated altogether and the active beneficial ingredients increased so people would not have to take more.

Logos Nutritionals Eve’s Harmony 

This review examines a product called Eve’s Harmony by Logos Nutritionals. With an impressive website and informative blog, we were excited to delve deeper into the formula of these menopause pills which is advertised as a hormone replacement for perimenopause, menopause, PMS, hot flashes and night sweats. What’s more, it even claims to aid with palpitations, memory loss, vaginal dryness, loss of libido and even headaches and muscle pain.

The first thing we noticed was that they only offered a supplement for day time use which is a great start but from our experience, doesn’t really help address night time sweats and insomnia. That said, the day time formula includes the quality active ingredients that we are looking for in a top quality supplement. These include Black Cohosh, Soy, Red Clover, Yam and Chasteberry. However, it was lacking Zinc, which was surprising and we felt somewhat a shame – it doesn’t really take a lot to add the RDA of Zinc and it can make all the difference. 

While we are pleased to see that they offer a money-back guarantee, we were concerned that it wasn’t clear how to activate that and claim your money back. They didn’t offer any package deals which is a great way of saving money for long term benefits. That said, it is fairly cheap at $20 a bottle so this is not going to ward off too many interested people. We were left disappointed with the fact that they did not include a supplement that is catered to address nighttime symptoms such as night flashes and insomnia, and what’s more, they failed to include Zinc. Moreover, most of the daily doses fell way short of what we would expect in a quality supplement and were left wondering if this was really helpful or not.
